Over two drastically different days the Boys and Girls track teams competed at the District Meet at Cuyahoga Heights. On Wednesday, it was hot and humid, while Friday brought much cooler temperatures and a few periods of rain. Both teams handled the weather and competition well with excellent performances on the track and in the field. Those athletes who place in the top four move on to Regionals. Kaylee Klepper led off Wednesday with a superb effort in Shot Put taking third place, while teammate Anna Avalon took 8th. The girls 4x800 followed up that performance with an 8th place finish on the track. For the boys Ben Lobdell (6th) and Todd Wright (7th) scored in the pole vault, while Robbie Mulh took third in Long Jump. Trey Shirkey battled to fifth place in discus to add to the boys total on day one. Most of the races on the track Wednesday were preliminaries and our athletes fared well.
